Artistic Vortex

B & W

While in college I took Photography. This was back in the day when we learned not only how to shoot, but also develop our own film. The University of Arizona had a really amazing photo lab. These are photos from that class where I shot and developed my own pictures.

I was interested in women with tattoos, music, and motorcycles. I was particularly interested in the stories about the tattoos. One of my friends was an avowed biker ¬†and wheel chair bound. She was also Phi Theta Kappa. Another was my lover at the time, the guitar and motorcycle symbols of her life. My other subject was a working musician in Tucson. These black and white images reflect my interests of the time. When the photos were exhibited I told these women’s stories. Those placards have since been lost. What remains are these humble images.
